How to File a Dari Amendment of an Existing Abu Dhabi Tenancy
الأهم خلال 30 ثانية
The lessor files a Dari amendment when an Abu Dhabi tenancy already exists as the current municipal contract. Both the lessor and the tenant must approve it, and the tenant's acceptance stays with that amendment. The unit stays on the amendment. A message that changes the current term is not the registered amendment. Keep the signed form, the existing contract number, and the papers for the change with the tenancy.
The lessor files the Dari amendment of an Abu Dhabi tenancy that is already the current municipal contract. Dari, the Abu Dhabi Real Estate Centre service, is where that filing starts. A message that changes the current term is not that amendment. Both parties must approve, and the acceptance stays with the amendment. A renewal form, a first-registration pack, a closure confirmation, and a lease on AccessRP, the Abu Dhabi Global Market registration service, are other files.

The Dari amendment of a tenancy that already exists
The lessor files this amendment on a tenancy that already exists. On Dari that filing is Modify Tenancy Contract. The contract it amends is the current municipal contract. The unit stays named on the amendment. Tawtheeq, Abu Dhabi's municipal register of tenancy contracts, is where that registered contract is held. A message, a receipt, or an agent's note that something was submitted does not take the place of the registered amendment.
Article 4 of Resolution No. (4) of 2011 says an amendment to a registered lease is indicated in the same register, and that only a registered contract is admissible for the competent entities. Article 5 says landlords register a lease contract when it is amended. The municipal user manual for this service describes the contract as one that is already registered and still active. If the tenancy is not registered yet, it is not ready for this amendment.
A Dari help page states that a tenancy contract can be modified through Dari. The lessor starts that modification on the contract that already exists. The user manual says the field it calls type of contract (actual usage) cannot be modified on this service.
An individual lessor page on Dari lists no tenancy-contract services. It is not the modify guide.
Both parties approve, and the acceptance stays with the amendment
Dari's approval page states that both the lessor and the tenant must approve the change. The tenant does not open a separate filing for the same change.
Keep the acceptance with the amendment
Both the lessor and the tenant must approve the amendment. The lessor submits it. The tenant may accept and sign, or reject it with reasons. Keep that acceptance with the amendment.
A rejection with reasons remains on this amendment. It does not become the closure confirmation. If the lessor then chooses to end the tenancy, that outcome is the closure file.
A renewal form and a closure confirmation are other files
The Department of Municipalities and Transport publishes one form title for three jobs, Tenancy Contract Form (new - renew - modify). New, renew, and modify share that title. The use for the current term is modify. A renewal form is the next term, so the renewal of an existing Abu Dhabi tenancy does not amend the term that is already running. Registering a contract for the first time is the first-registration pack, a different file. Dari's lease folder keeps Modify Tenancy Contract as its own article and lists Register, Renew, Cancel, Close, and Terminate by court order as other articles.
The closure confirmation is a different file. The forms catalogue publishes Cancel-Close-Terminate Tenancy Contract Form under its own title, and cancellation in the supporting-documents guide is its own list, including a utility clearance presented only at the municipality and an owner's no-objection letter. A private sheet of extra terms is not this filing. The written notice before expiry is another file.
If the unit is on Al Reem or Al Maryah, this amendment is not the filing for that unit. Knownable, updated 1 October 2026, says Abu Dhabi Global Market real-estate services cover Al Reem and Al Maryah, including leasing through AccessRP, the Abu Dhabi Global Market registration service. The same note says an instruction to register every Abu Dhabi lease through Tawtheeq was too broad.
The papers that belong with this amendment are the ones named for the change itself. The amendment part of the supporting-documents guide asks for a tenancy-contract registration form signed by both parties, a copy of the lease for which the existing contract number is enough, and the documents that belong to the amendments. Renewal and new registration have their own lists in that guide. They are not part of this amendment.
When an occupant is added or removed, keep the name with the Emirates ID, which is the resident identity card. The manual looks the person up by that Emirates ID, by an Emirates ID application number, or by a Ministry of Interior unified number. Do not copy the number into the note. Dari's remove-occupants page says occupants may be added and removed when the lessor and the tenant agree.
Record who pays the utility bill as the party named on the amendment. The modify guide calls that account the ADWEA bill, the Abu Dhabi water and electricity account. Another Dari page spells the same payer ADEWA. The two spellings name one bill. Do not add a tariff.
The opened pages do not agree on a charge or a time window
The official pages opened for this amendment do not agree on a charge or a time window. A help guide, the municipal user manual, a company service card, and the schedule attached to Resolution No. (4) of 2011 do not match. This article does not choose among them, and it does not say the amendment is free.
Store the amendment and the acceptance, then stop
The filing order starts from a current Abu Dhabi municipal contract and ends when the amendment and the acceptance are stored with that tenancy. If the contract is not registered yet, or the unit is on Al Reem or Al Maryah, stop before filing.
File this amendment, then stop
A current municipal contract
The tenancy is already the current Abu Dhabi municipal contract, registered and still active. If no contract is registered yet, stop. The first-registration pack is a different file. If the unit is on Al Reem or Al Maryah, stop.
The lessor files the current term
The lessor files the Dari amendment of that current term. The amendment names the unit. A message, a receipt, or a note that the change was submitted is not the amendment.
The acceptance stays with the amendment
Keep both parties' approval with the amendment, and store the tenant's acceptance beside it. A rejection with reasons is not the closure file. A choice to end the tenancy after that rejection belongs in the closure file.
Papers that belong to the change
Clip the tenancy-contract form signed by both parties, the existing contract number, and the documents that belong to the change. If an occupant changes, keep the name with the Emirates ID or the unified number. Do not copy the number into the note.
The other papers stay in their own files
Leave the renewal form, the first-registration pack, the closure confirmation, a private extra-terms sheet, and the written notice before expiry out of this file. A charge and a time window stay off this file as well.
Store the amendment and stop
Store the amendment and the acceptance with the current tenancy. The unit named on the amendment stays with that tenancy. Then stop.
Stop once that amendment is stored on the current tenancy, the unit is on the amendment, and both parties' acceptance is kept with it. This article does not state a charge or a time window, and it does not say the amendment is free. IziRento stores the amendment and the acceptance in the workspace and does not file on Dari or register the contract in Tawtheeq.
The lessor files a Dari amendment of an existing Abu Dhabi tenancy, keeps both parties' approval with it, and stores that acceptance on the current contract.
